BIG NEWS! I’m officially announcing my joining of the startup, Virtuleap.
Over the years, I’ve always tried to find the best avenue towards my main goal: finding a way to educate people about brain health and Alzheimer’s disease. In short, I want to help people to sharpen their minds and take control of their mental powers for the present, and more importantly, the long term.
A lot of projects I’ve been involved with over the years have helped me towards that goal: my non-profit, writing a book, giving speeches, my YouTube channel, memory championships, and the like. But I can honestly say, no opportunity has given me as much excitement as this one.
Virtuleap is a VR company that is in the business of building games/exercises to help train your brain. Now, I know that may not sound novel — there are tons of brain training apps. But, no one is doing it in VR. What’s even more exciting is that the research shows that while 2D brain games may not actually improve ones cognitive abilities as much as we think, when you take those games into the 3D space, they do!
With VR technology only getting better and better, I felt like now was the time to make a move. Back in 2014, when I helped develop the software for the Extreme Memory Tournament, I thought we were creating the next iteration of brain training software. We did a great job, but I think a number of things missed the mark. With what I’ve learned from that, along with my decade-long experience in the memory world, and now with a full development team behind me, I can’t wait to see the things we create together in the coming years. Very exciting stuff!
Virtuleap’s brain training app, Enhance, is currently in beta (with a fresh new release coming out in July). Please check it out! And make sure to WATCH THIS SPACE!
